Inside the Role

The IT Digital Transformation Office (DTO) at Daimler Trucks North America is dedicated to improving the usability and overall experience of IT’s digital products and services. We are looking for a passionate individual to join the DTO to be responsible for creating engaging immersive reality experiences using a mix of 3D visualization and VR/AR/mobile development skills. This individual will work closely with both the Creative, UX and Immersive teams as well as be an active contributor to the overall DTO in order to support IT innovation and design leadership. They will also work cross-functionally with other Daimler departments, specifically the Autonomous Truck Group (ATG).

This individual will also support the DTO with capabilities to build immersive experiences that improve the product development process as well as customer product communication. They should understand the methods for creating powerful, interactive, and high quality 3D experiences. Lastly, they should understand and  maintain the DTO’s strategy and long-term vision, design guidelines and best practices, while following technology innovations/evolutions as well as Daimler’s business strategies and global initiatives.

Position offers a starting salary range of $82,000 - $104,500 USD​

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​

What You Drive at DTNA:

  • Create 3D experiences built for either VR, AR, Mobile, or web that improve business workflows or communicate content
  • Collaborate with business partners to conceptualize best methods and technology to use for visualization
  • Demonstrate and define immersive interaction standards, develop new processes for visualizing content using immersive technology
  • Design experiences, interactions, and applications that support Immersive team experiences
  • Create tool workflows or visual communication methods that illustrate and document immersive concepts
  • Work closely with UX team to improve visual aesthetic of IT-developed UI systems
  • Work closely with development team to integrate current DTNA applications and methods
  • Collaborate with brand marketing & sales departments as well as corporate communications to ensure brand consistency
  • Stay current with immersive technology trends
  • Forge and maintain relationships with colleagues across the global organization

Knowledge You Should Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Game Design, Media Technology or relevant field with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating previous work experience as a Game Developer, Immersive Developer, or similar role
  • Highly adept in Unity C# programming, WebGL, Python and immersive UX concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of current VR/AR/Mobile devices and unique development processes
  • Proven record of visual storytelling through 3D experience development
  • Have a solid foundation of visual communication principles, layout, design, immersive interaction methods, and upholding user comfort 
  • Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills, along with brainstorming and presentation skills
  • A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, manage expectations and meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Willingness to remain up-to-date on the latest 3D software and hardware

Exceptional Candidates Might Have:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS a bonus
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, texturing, animation or rendering
